Our company took Ian on as a subcontractor to help cover our extra workload. We are a locksmith company, which Ian also does, as well as apparently running this cleaning service as well. We sent him out on very his first job for us to one of our customers who was unfortunate enough to have had his lock glued. Ian opened and then replaced the cylinder, but both he and the customer immediately realised that the cylinder he used as a replacement was not a suitable size for the door and because it was so ill fitting, it wobbled in the door and was difficult to lock and unlock. Ian then told our customer he would need to leave site to get a better fitting lock and to collect some more tools. He took 110 in cash from our customer, left site and never returned as promised. He told us that the job was completed and that the customer was left happy. We were then unable to get hold of Ian every time we tried to get in touch with him to chase up our commission from the job, so we just stopped using him and wrote it off as a bad experience. When the frustrated customer finally got in touch to try and find out when Ian would be returning to finish the job, we managed to reach him by calling him off a restricted number. He promised to call the customer and go back to finish the job. He arranged a day and time to go back but never turned up. From then on, Ian will neither answer to us or to the customer, or hangs up as soon as he realises that its us. Eventually, almost a month after he first went out to the customer and after countless unsuccessful attempts to reach a resolution with Ian, we have now arranged to send out one of our own locksmiths to fix the mess Ian caused, free of charge, as we felt so sorry for the customer and the terrible service he got from Ian.Ian has essentially taken this customers money and left him with a door that isn't properly secured. He is completely ambivalent to both the customers distress at the situation and also to the fact that it could potentially make our company look bad as we were the ones who sent him out. Luckily our customer was understanding and is now looking to make a complaint about him to Trading Standards. We are leaving this review on all his other pages as well as his locksmith page, as we believe Ian is fundamentally a cowboy trader, no matter what the nature of the actual trade is. He clearly has his fingers in so many pies that he cant provide a good service to his customers. Avoid him at all costs to save yourself on the stress, hassle and substandard workmanship that comes along with him.
